Why You’ll Love Our Newest Product: Little Board + Cutter
We are so excited to introduce our newest product to you, our Little Board and Cutter.
There are so many reasons why we think you’ll love our Little Board and Cutter but here are a few specific ones:
The cutting tool that we paired with our wooden board is child-friendly for even your tiniest of kitchen helpers. Since our cutting tool doesn’t have a metal blade, it allows older babies or very young children the ability to use it without the fear of them hurting their little fingers in the process. The blade is made entirely of wood which makes it strong enough to cut without it posing a hazard to your child. We also made the handle for the cutting tool ergonomic and embracing of the palmar grasp which is instinctive for older babies/young toddlers who cannot yet maneuver their fingers around smaller tools.
Our cutter and cutting board are both made from locally sourced Ash/Maple hardwood in sturdy, smooth whole cut pieces which means that you don’t have to worry about pieces separating or breaking even after years of use. We chose to finish the Board and Cutter with Walrus Cutting Board Oil because it is 100% Food Safe and free of toxins and synthetics. Additionally, wood is a natural and more sustainable material (more on this and other benefits of wood tools for children in our Why Wood Toys blog post.
These wooden pieces showcase their beautiful, organic wood grain and blend seamlessly with other kitchen tools and could even be disguised amidst your charcuterie serve ware (they’re that beautiful!) These pieces can sit on your countertop, ready for your children, and look just as sophisticated as any of the kitchen tools you already have on display.
When children are independently engaged in their family home kitchen in their own way, it helps them to develop ownership over kitchen and home tasks, experience more enjoyment in home responsibilities, and can even help them to be more explorative eaters! When children are involved and invested in preparing their own food, they are more likely to try or taste whatever they’re helping to make.
We are so excited for you to try it for yourself!
